I am a Veteran who retired after 27 fulfilling years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Despite many great, and sometimes not so great, experiences and adventures, I am well-acquainted with the physical and mental effects of prolonged periods of stress, fatigue, and extreme physical activity. Hence my discovery of yoga and meditation.
I am a huge advocate for movement of any kind, particularly outdoors, in the fresh air, rain or shine. Not only do we experience the physical benefits of exercise, but these activities also contribute significantly to our mental health and well-being.
My favorite activities are yoga, walking, hiking, cycling, and kayaking. I also have a desk-job, so movement is even more critical to undo the effects of long hours in a chair. The goal is to find an activity or activities that you love that keeps you coming back. The more you love it, the easier it is to unroll your mat or get out the door, even when you don't feel like it.
True health requires a holistic approach where we make time for exercise and rest, healthy eating, yoga and meditation, healthy relationships, and anything else that brings positive energy to mind, body, and spirit. While movement brings phenomenal physical and mental benefits, health and wholeness comes from balance, and that's where yoga comes in. Movement is balanced by stillness.
Stillnes is where we experience a greater sense of freedom, peace, and self-realization. We uncover our true selves and our true nature that have been there all along.
I promise, no fancy yoga poses here!
I offer yoga classes designed to cultivate both movement and stillness. Movement that brings greater mobility and ease to daily activities. Stillness comes from a combination of Breathwork and Meditation where we experience greater self-awareness and acceptance.
Your journey starts wherever you are today.
All levels of yoga experience are welcome.
All of my classes contain some combination of movement, breathwork and meditation. You can enjoy longer stretches of movement during yoga classes and we'll explore longer segments of focused breathwork and stillness during meditation classes.
COME AND HAVE FUN AS YOU ARE!
Enjoy challenging yet light-hearted classes that will likely contain a blooper or six (I have been known to mix up right from left).
From my home to yours, I hope to see you on the mat!

I ALSO DESIGN AND HAND-CRAFT MEDITATION MALAS TO USE DURING YOUR MEDITATION PRACTICE
Touchstone Mala Design is my artisan studio located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada where I design and create high-quality, hand-crafted Mala jewellery to support your meditation and yoga practice.
You will find a rich selection of Mala necklaces and bracelets created for use as prayer beads during your meditation practice but can also be worn or carried afterwards as a touchstone reminder of your intentions. With use, your Mala becomes increasingly infused with the power of your intentions and the soothing feeling of holding the beads in your hands is a phenomenal tool for healing and growth.
Each Mala is thoughtfully designed using 108 beautiful semi-precious gemstone beads, durable nylon thread in a rich array of complimentary colors and finished using two guru beads and 3.5-inch tassel. Following traditional Mala design, each Mala is carefully hand-knotted between each bead, symbolic of the challenges, both good and bad, that we encounter in life.
Whether you are a new or seasoned meditation practitioner, I invite you to have a look, explore and see which Mala speaks to you...
